Over 1.14 million postal ballots reach returning officers by 2:00pm

A total of 1,143,845 postal ballots had reached returning officers as of 2:00pm on Thursday, according to data released by the Bangladesh Election Commission.

Of the total, 495,551 ballots were received from overseas voters, while 648,294 came from in-country postal voters (ICPV) through the Postal Vote BD mobile app system.

The Commission has instructed that no ballots reaching returning officers after 4:30pm will be accepted under any circumstances.

For Overseas Citizen Voters (OCV), 766,862 ballots were delivered to destination countries. Of those, 554,258 voters received their ballots and 543,751 completed voting. A total of 537,554 ballots were deposited at post offices or mailboxes abroad, with 498,266 ballots having arrived in Bangladesh so far.

In the case of ICPV, 760,898 ballots were dispatched by Bangladesh Post. Among them, 681,819 voters received their ballots and 674,376 cast their votes.
