More than 15,000 Bangladeshi expatriates in East Asia, South America and Africa have registered in the first phase to cast their votes via post in the next parliamentary elections.
The Election Commission has given the expatriates in the regions, who have not yet registered on the Postal Vote BD app, five extra days until Nov 28 to sign up.
The first phase of the postal voting registration was supposed to conclude at midnight on Sunday.
The app for postal voting was launched on Tuesday for expatriate Bangladeshi voters and three other categories of Bangladeshi citizens.
Postal ballots can be used to cast votes in the 13th parliamentary election and the referendum.
The EC had earlier set a five-day registration window for different regions of the world.
In the first phase of registration, extended from Nov 19 to 23, Bangladeshi expatriates in 52 countries across East Asia, South America and Africa were supposed to register.
