More than 200 fishermen have remained missing after at least 15 fishing trawlers reportedly capsized in the Bay of Bengal due to rough weather and high tide in the 24 hours till Friday afternoon.
Among the capsized trawlers were FB Mayer Dowa, FB Tajenur, FB Mim-2 and FB Arman Ali, said Golam Mostafa, president of Barguna Fishing Trawler Owner's Association, UNB reported.
Deputy Commissioner Mokhlesur Rahman said members of Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Coast Guard were conducting drives to rescue the missing fishermen as well as to salvage the trawlers.
