Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef SY Ramadan has expressed deep gratitude for the continued support of the Bangladeshi people after a meeting with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus.
The ambassador met with Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Sunday, according to a statement by the Chief Advisor’s Office (CAO).
Referring to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, he said: “There is no food, no medicine. Children are the main victims.
“The Government of Bangladesh has been a great support to Palestine. Many Bangladeshi people are sending money for food and medicine. Our people know this aid is coming from Bangladesh. We are truly grateful.”
He thanked the Bangladesh government for joining other Muslim countries in condemning the announcement of the “Greater Israel” map.
He also requested the authorities to consider importing more Palestinian products.
Yunus reiterated Bangladesh’s solidarity with Palestine, saying: “Our people stand with you. The government will continue its support.”
The chief advisor also hoped more countries would recognise Palestine, and a viable two-state solution would eventually be implemented.
