PCJSS activist shot dead in Rangamati

An activist of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samiti (PCJSS) was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Biharpara under Naniarchar upazila in Rangamati on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Shanta Chakma.

Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Naniarchar Police Station, said a gang of miscreants opened fire on Shanta around 7:15pm while he was going to a local bazaar from his house, leaving him critically injured. He was taken to Naniarchar Upazila Health Complex. But the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Shanta might have been killed over political conflict, said locals, reports UNB.
