PEN Bangladesh holds media dialogue Tuesday evening

 The state of media freedom during the pandemic will come up for discussion at a webinar to be hosted from Dhaka on Tuesday evening.

PEN Bangladesh has organised the discussion titled “Freedom of the Press during the Coronavirus Pandemic: Professional Security of the Journalists”.

Educationist Syed Manzoorul Islam, also PEN Bangladesh President, is scheduled to preside over the session which will be broadcast live on the organisation’s Facebook page at 9pm on Tuesday, according to a pre-event announcement.

Editor-in-chief of Gazi Television Syed Ishtiaque Reza, acting editor of Daily Samakal Mustafiz Shafi, associate editor of Daily Ittefaq Mohshin Habib, chairman of Journalism and Media Communication department at Green University Md. Aliur Rahman and Channel-i special correspondent Soma Islam are expected to join the virtual discussion to be moderated by chief reporter at Bangla Tribune Udisa Islam.

PEN Bangladesh has decided to orgnise six seminars, four thematic lectures and five interviews, as part of PEN International’s global efforts to organise civil society interactions and discussions during the coronavirus crisis, said the announcement made by PEN Bangladesh publicity secretary ShakiraParvin.
