People will be punished for making monsters, says Sakhawat

Security forces such as police, RAB, and BGB were turned into monsters by the Awami League government over the past 15 years, says Home Advisor M Sakhawat Hussain.

He said no one involved in the act will be spared, no matter how big they are, reports bdnews24.com.

Describing the Awami League as a ‘fascist party’, the advisor said border killings had been occurring for so many days but the BGB was not allowed to do anything other than holding flag meetings. “Those days are over.”

Sakhawat made the remarks after visiting BGB personnel injured in the violence with the students and the public at BGB Hospital in Dhaka’s Pilkhana on Monday.

He also hinted at removing some other police officers at that time.

The home advisor said, “From what I've heard, the 15 years have made these forces monsters, I will take those who did so to the international court. They have killed a great number of people and destroyed every institution.

"A force such as BGB had been asked to show its back at the border. Our people died at the border and the force was forced to hold so-called flag meetings."

"As far as I have to say here, the countrymen will also say, do not show the back. It's enough. They [India’s Border Security Force] killed our people by entering the border and we said flag meetings had been done, everything is fine or I don't know. These days are over. Thank God we have restrained the army in many ways."

He was hitting the dias while speaking in excitement.

"These are national forces. They are not a personal force. I will try to bring them to justice at home and abroad. No matter how big they are. If I get them, I'll send them straight to jail.

"We have already seen some actions by police."

“The [Awami League] is worse than a fascist party. They did what fascists do. False propaganda and directing the country in that way.”

On taking action against police, Sakhawat said, "There is an official process for that. We have made some recommendations to the president.”
