Petrol bombs hurled at Grameen Bank branch in Gopalganj

Unidentified miscreants hurled petrol bombs at a branch of Grameen Bank in Gopalganj early Thursday.

According to police, the attack took place late at night targeting the Ulipur branch of Grameen Bank in Gopalganj Sadar upazila.

The miscreants reportedly threw five to six petrol bombs from a black microbus, one of which exploded. However, no damage was caused to the bank building.

In a separate incident around 4:30 am, miscreants also threw at least ten petrol bombs at the Public Works Department office building and a pickup van parked nearby.

The pickup caught fire, but the office guard, with help from locals, managed to bring the blaze under control.

Law enforcement agencies are investigating the incidents to identify those involved.
