PM donates Tk 100 million for Covid-hit homeless people

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday provided Tk 100 million to two separate funds for helping Covid-hit people and the rehabilitation of landless and homeless people.

She provided the financial assistance from Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust, reports UNB.

Of the amount, Tk 50 million was given to the assistance fund for the Corona-hit prople, while another Tk 50 million to Ashrayan Project for the rehabilitation of landless and homeless people.

The Prime Minister has provided Tk 100 million at her personal initiative, said PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.

Sheikh Hasina urged the affluent section of society to come forward in aid of the poor and destitute.
