Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday expressed shock and sorrow at the death of the country's renowned Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman.
She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family, according to the Prime Minister's Press Wing.
Ziaur Rahman died at the time of playing the 12th round match of the ongoing National Chess Championship' 2024 in the capital on Friday afternoon.
Born on May 1, 1974, Ziaur became a Grandmaster in 2002.
