PM visits Sheikh Selim’s residence to console family

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the residence of Awami League leader and her cousin Sheikh Selime at Banani area in Dhaka on Wednesday to console family members over Selim’s grandson’s death in Sri Lanka Easter Sunday blasts.

The Prime Minister entered his house around 2:40 pm.

The mortal remains of Zayan Chowdhury, 8, the grandson of Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, brought in here on Wednesday afternoon, reports UNB.

A Singapore Airlines flight carrying his body landed at Dhaka airport around 12:45 pm.

His body will be taken to their Banani house and he will later be laid to rest at Banani graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza.

Zayan and more than 350 other people were killed in explosions in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday. He had gone there with his family on a vacation.

His father Mashiul Haque Chowdhury was also injured in the blasts and undergoing treatment there.
