Police, in special drives arrested 24 people including two activists of BNP and an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami from different areas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8 am this morning.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested five people including two activists of BNP from Pulhaat area in the town around 11:30 pm, Birganj Thana police arrested four persons, Khansama Thana police arrested two persons, Ghoraghat Thana police arrested one person, Phulbari Thana police arrested two persons, Birampur Thana police arrested two persons, Nawabganj Thana police arrested two persons, Hakimpur Thana police arrested three persons, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested an activist of Jamaat-E-Islami from Amtali Bazar in the town around 7 am and Kaharole Thana police arrested two.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested, the sources added, reports BSS.
The arrested people were sent to jail.
