Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a special anti-drug drive arrested 34 suspects from different areas of Dhaka city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
A special team of DMP, comprising Detective Branch (DB) of police and other law officials, launched the drives in different places of the capital and recovered 6161 pieces of yaba tablets, 500.5 grams heroin and 100 grams cannabis, according to a DMP statement issued on Saturday.
A total of 25 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The anti-drug operation began at 6:00am on Friday and ended at 6:00am on Saturday (today), the statement added.
