Detectives on Saturday arrested eight activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir allegedly along with leaflets and books on militancy from a mess in Shahibagh area of Sadar upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
Additional Police Superintendent Mahbub Alam in a press briefing in the afternoon said acting on tip-off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted a drive at the mess in the early hours.
During the drive, they arrested eight members of Jamaat-Shibir along with huge books on militancy, leaflets and fund collection registers, he said.
