Policemen removed from traffic boxes in Dhaka over security concern

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has temporarily removed police personnel from various traffic boxes in the capital city, citing security concerns.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Md Munibur Rahman confirmed the matter on Saturday, stating that the decision was made to ensure the safety of the police officials.

However, he added that deployments have been made in certain areas considering the overall situation.  

Earlier in the day, many traffic boxes in the city were found to be vacant, and traffic police officers were scarce on the roads.
