In a major reshuffle, 47 police officers were transferred and posted to different units of Bangladesh Police on Tuesday.
The Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs made the reshuffle in separate notifications.
The home ministry sent Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Moniruzzaman and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range Md Abdul Baten to forced retirement.
It also attached Additional IGP and Special Branch (SB) chief Monirul Islam to the Police Headquarters.
The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has got Tawfique Mahbub Chowdhury, Additional IGP of the Police Headquarters, as its new chief.
It transferred Mohammad Ali Mia from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to the Police Headquarters and Additional DIG of Police Anwar Hossain to a specialised training centre in Khagrachhari.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) also brought some changes with new postings and transfers of 28 deputy commissioners and superintendents of police.
