Police use baton-charge, water canon to disperse Madrasa teachers at Shahbagh

Police used baton-charge, tear gas, and water cannon to disperse independent Ebtedayi madrasa teachers protesting at Shahbagh intersection this afternoon. 

The teachers, demanding nationalisation of independent Ebtedayi madrasa, attempted to breach a police barricade in front of the National Museum to submit a memorandum to the Chief Advisor’s office

Several teachers, injured in the incident, were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by rickshaw, according to local media.
