The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday approved candidacies of 73 more aspirants on the fifth day of hearings on appeals filed against returning officers' decisions over the scrutiny of nomination papers for the 13th national parliamentary election.
The verdicts were delivered during hearings held at the auditorium of the Nirbachan Bhaban.
According to EC secretariat, 17 appeals were rejected for various reasons, while 10 were kept pending.
So far 380 appeals have been heard, of which 277 were approved, 81 rejected and 23 kept pending.
The appeal hearings began on Saturday and will continue until January 18.

During a press briefing, EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said the Bangladesh embassy in Bahrain is looking into the matter.
