Police arrested Awami League leader Advocate Zeenat Sohana Chowdhury from a house in Bayezid area of the port city at around 1:00 am on Tuesday in connection with a clash on the Chattogram Court premises.
Zeenat Sohana Chowdhury was the Chattogram divisional leader of the Suchinta Foundation.
She is a former member of the Chittagong Development Authority (CDA), Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bayezid thana Md Arifur Rahman said Zeenat Sohana was picked up from a house in Bayezid area at around 1:00 am on Tuesday.
She is an accused in a case filed over a clash between police and followers of Chinmoy Krishna Brahmachari on the Chattogram Court premises on December 4 last year.
