The Government Madrasah-e-Alia has indefinitely shut two halls of residence after violent clashes between rival factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League.

The madrasa in Old Dhaka’s Bakshibazar announced the closure of the Allama Kashgari Hall and Shaheed Ibrahim Hall on Sunday, ordering the students to vacate the halls, reports bdnews24.com.

The clashes between the groups of the ruling Awami League’s student front at the Islamic school took place in the wee hours of Friday. They also vandalised the halls.
