Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (BJAF), a platform of the pro-BNP lawyers, on Sunday demanded arrest and trial of former Chief Justice (CJ) A B M Khairul Haque, accusing him as the 'main designer of destroying the country's judiciary and democracy'.

BJAF leaders made the demand from a press conference at the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) building in the capital.

In a written statement, BJAF President Zainul Abedin also demanded removal of the judges, who were corrupt and acted as allies of the recent fascist regime. Fugitive Sheikh Hasina established fascism in the country with direct support of the judiciary.

"The democracy of the country could not have been destroyed, if the judges had performed the constitutional duties entrusted to them. Former CJ A B M Khairul Haque was the main designer of destroying the country's judiciary and democracy."
