BNP has cancelled its final election rally scheduled to be held in Dhaka on February 8 (on Sunday).
Instead of holding the rally, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will deliver election speeches at different locations across Dhaka North and South on February 8 and 9, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed told reporters on Friday.
Rizvi shared the information while speaking at a programme the party’s central office in the capital’s Nayapaltan area.
During the programme, newly elected JUCSU Vice-President Abdur Rashid Jitu joined BNP and several elected student leaders from different hall units joined BNP’s student wing, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.
Rizvi said the young leaders have been inspired to join BNP by the party’s role in protecting the country’s independence and sovereignty.
Speaking on the occasion, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib said the organisation will soon get a new leadership.
Earlier on Thursday, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the party will hold its final election rally on February 8 in front of its Nayapaltan central office, with BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman scheduled to address the gathering as the chief guest.
