BNP to ensure fee institutional internet, if voted to power: Mahdi Amin

Adviser to the BNP Chairman and the party's Election Steering Committee Spokesperson Dr Mahdi Amin today (Saturday) said that if the party comes to power, free institutional internet facilities will be ensured for all. 

He said, "BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has announced plans to gradually provide free institutional internet. If the BNP comes to power, it will work to bring all schools, colleges, universities, offices, rural digital centers, hospitals, railway stations, airports, and other public places in Bangladesh under free internet coverage step by step."

Mahdi Amin made these remarks at an event titled "The Role and Responsibilities of the ICT Sector in Building Tomorrow's Bangladesh" held in the city, BSS reports. 

He added, "Our main goal is to ensure that people in the country can easily access information and modern services. We will work so that those involved in various types of employment and who have built themselves as entrepreneurs can strengthen their respective economic activities by receiving free internet access. Therefore, it is BNP's commitment that, Inshallah, in the future Bangladesh, internet will be for everyone."

Mahdi Amin also mentioned that the party will work to ensure people's empowerment.

"Suitable opportunities and facilities will be ensured for the talented. BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has included these issues in his plans."

He added that, in response to the demands of freelancers, BNP has already begun working to bring PayPal to Bangladesh. "BNP will create 10 lakh employment opportunities in the information technology sector."
