BNP’s Tarique Rahman heads to Barishal, Faridpur on Wednesday

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is headed to Barishal and Faridpur on Wednesday as part of his campaign ahead of the Feb 12 general election.

Mahadi Amin, spokesman for the party's central election management committee, made the announcement at a press briefing at the BNP’s office in Gulshan on Tuesday.

He said, "Our leader, Mr Tarique Rahman, is going to Barishal and Faridpur tomorrow (Wednesday) as part of his election campaign. He will go to Barishal by air at 11am tomorrow and will attend an election rally at the Bells Park ground there at noon."

"Then he will depart Barishal by air on his way to Faridpur at 1pm. Upon reaching there, he will take part in an election rally at Rajendra College ground. After that, our leader will return to Dhaka by air again."

On Feb 2, Tarique travelled by helicopter to take part in two election rallies in Khulna and Jashore before returning to Dhaka.

So far, the BNP chief has addressed a total of 22 election rallies outside Dhaka.

He will conclude his campaigning outside Dhaka with the election rallies in Barishal and Faridpur.

Tarique launched his election campaign in Sylhet on Jan 22. He also addressed rallies the same day in Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi and Narayanganj.

He began the next phase of his campaign in Chattogram on Jan 25, holding rallies in Feni, Chauddagram in Cumilla, Suwagazi, Daudkandi and Narayanganj before returning to Dhaka.

The BNP leader began a three-day tour of the northern region on Jan 29, addressing rallies in Rajshahi, Naogaon, Bogura, Rangpur, Sirajganj and Tangail. He returned to Dhaka on Jan 31.

He then took the stage in Khulna and Jashore on Monday.
