Election candidates of different political parties and independent ones are passing busy time conducting campaigns to attract voters as the Election Commission (EC) has unveiled constituency-wise final voter list.
Candidates of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, National Citizen Party (NCP) and independent contestants are carrying out mass contact programmes including rallies, procession, conference and door to door publicity to seek voter's support.
Candidates were allowed to begin their campaigns from Thursday as per the election schedule announced by the EC last December.
Contestants were seen approaching voters to seek support and assure them of working for the betterment of their respective constituencies if they were elected.
Meanwhile, a total of 127,711,895 voters have been finalised by the Election Commission to cast their ballots in the parliamentary election and referendum scheduled for February 12.
Of the total voters, 64,825,151 are men, 62,885,524 women, and 1,220 are transgender.
The figures were made public with constituency-based voter list published by the EC's public relations wing on Thursday.
The list contains the names and locations of polling centres, along with the number of male, female and transgender voters.
An analysis of the voter data shows that Jhalakathi-1 has the lowest number of voters among the 300 constituencies, with 228,431 voters.
On the other hand, Gazipur-2 has the highest, with 804,333 voters.
Gazipur-2 is followed by Dhaka-19, Gazipur-1 and Noakhali-4 each having more than 0.7 million voters.
Under the Representation of the People Order, candidate expenditure has been fixed at Tk 10 per voter for this election.
