The dead body of a Chhatra Dal leader has been taken to a hospital following clashes between the BNP and law enforcing agencies in Magura.
The clashes occurred around 11am on Sunday on Dhaka Road in Magura city, reports bdnews24.com.
Witnesses say police stopped the BNP leaders and activists from entering the city after they staged a demonstration at Magura’s Parnanduali area.
The BNP activists started throwing brickbats at them and police chased them and fired rubber bullets.
Magura Chhatra Dal President Abdur Rahim claims that Mehedi Hasan Rabbi, the joint secretary of the organisation, was killed by the police during the clashes.
“Rabbi was shot to death by police. He was shot in the chest,” said Rahim.

According to Amar Prasad, a doctor of the hospital’s emergency unit, at least 10 people, including three policemen, were admitted to the hospital after being injured in the clashes.
