BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday conveyed party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's sympathy to the bereaved family members of deceased pilot Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam Sagar.
Towkir was killed in a training jet crash at Milestone School and College in the city that also claimed lives of 33 others, mostly children and two female teachers of the institution.
A party delegation led by Mirza Fakhrul went to meet the family of Towkir at Dhaka Cantonment.
Mirza Fakhrul conveyed condolences of Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman to the family members of Towkir during the meeting.
Present at that time were Towkir's father-in-law and wife Aksha Ahmed Nijhum and other family members.
The BNP secretary general was accompanied by the party's vice chairman and former Air Force Chief Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, among others.
The plane crash occurred on the campus of Milestone School and College in the city's Uttara on July 21.
