The nomination papers of Tasnim Jara, an independent candidate from the Dhaka-9 constituency and a former NCP leader, have been rejected by the Dhaka district returning officer.
The decision was announced on Saturday (January 3) following the scrutiny of nomination papers.
According to her election affidavit published on the Election Commission’s website, Jara declared an annual income of more than Tk 700,000 earned in Bangladesh, along with additional foreign income in British pounds.
The affidavit attached to her nomination papers shows that she earns Tk 713,597 annually from her profession as a physician in Bangladesh. She also declared foreign income of 3200 pounds (equivalent to Tk 527,000), bringing her total annual income to Tk 1,240,597.
Tasnim Jara is a medical doctor by profession. Her husband is an entrepreneur and researcher. Born on October 7, 1994, she holds an MSc degree.
