The interim government has decided to intensify its crackdown on Awami League leaders and activists in light of their alleged misconduct and disruptive activities, said LGRD adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan.

Speaking to the media on Sunday after a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the adviser confirmed the decision.

The meeting discussed strategies for improving overall law and order and ensuring the smooth and disciplined execution of upcoming events, he said.

Expressing optimism, the adviser said, "We hope the upcoming events will be conducted in a very peaceful manner."

"We have noticed some activities in recent days that warrant increased action. As a result, a decision has been made to strengthen arrest operations across the country," he stated.

The adviser accused individuals linked to the previous fascist regime of attempting to incite unrest by supporting dissident groups, funding activities, and organizing demonstrations.

He emphasized that those involved in conspiracies to destabilize the country, particularly individuals with pending cases or clear allegations against them, would face legal action.
