NCP candidate Hasnat Abdullah optimistic about victory in Cumilla-4
Over 50 per cent voter turn out till 3:30 pm

Hasnat Abdullah, the 11-party alliance candidate for the Cumilla-4 constituency, expressed optimism about his electoral victory as voting progressed peacefully at all centres in Debiddar upazila of Cumilla on Tuesday.
Till 3:30 pm, The FE found over 50 per cent voter turnout at four centres in the constituency.
At the Nabiyabad Government Primary School polling centre (No. 103) in Barkamta, presiding officer Kamal Uddin Ahmed said the total number of registered male voters is 3,883, of whom 1,758 had cast their votes by 2:15 pm.

Meanwhile, Md Moniruzzaman, presiding officer of the Nabiyabad High School polling centre, said a total of 3,819 female voters from three wards are registered there. By 2:15 pm, 2,010 female voters had cast their votes.
Voters were seen turning up steadily at the centres. Baby Akhter, a 65-year-old woman with disabilities, arrived at a polling station accompanied by her granddaughter to cast her vote. She expressed satisfaction with the overall election environment.
Another voter, Abul Kamal, came to the polling centre along with his mother, wife and aunts. They also expressed their satisfaction with the polling environment.

At Jafrabad Government Primary School polling centre, presiding officer Md Fazlur Rahman said nearly 2,200 voters had cast their votes by 3:30 pm out of a total of 4,371 registered male and female voters from Ward No. 3 under Barkamta union of Debiddar.
He said polling agents representing Shapla, Koli, Truck, Apparel and Wall Clock symbols were present at the centre, adding that all were cooperative and the election was proceeding smoothly.
Echoing the same sentiment, Shahina Akhter, a polling agent of the Truck symbol at a booth of Jafrabad Government Primary School, said 274 votes had been cast out of 467 registered voters there. She said everything was going smoothly.
Alomgir Hossain, a polling agent of the Apparel symbol, also expressed similar views.
Outside the Nabiyabad High School polling centre, speaking to The Financial Express, NCP candidate Hasnat Abdullah said, “Alhamdulillah, everything is fine and the polling is going on quietly.” He said he is very confident about his victory and sought blessings from all.
The NCP candidate is scheduled to hold a press conference at 4:30 pm today.
The total number of voters in this constituency stands at 410,559. Of them, 215,237 are male voters and 195,319 are female voters. There are also voters from the third gender.
A total of five candidates are contesting the seat. They are Md Abul Hasnat of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Irfanul Haque Sarker of Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh, Md A Jasim Uddin of Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP), Md Abdul Karim of Islami Andolon Bangladesh, and Mohammad Mojibur Rahman of Khelafat Majlish.
