Dhaka Metropolitan Police have detained Imtiaz Selim, the media affairs convener of banned organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir, reports bdnews24.com.
Selim was detained by the DMP Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crimes Unit, the DMP said on Friday.
Hizb ut-Tahrir was banned on Oct 22, 2009 during the Awami League’s rule. In the years since, the organisation did not engage in much public activity. However, since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on Aug 5, it has held public processions.
