

Jamaat-e-Islami chief Shafiqur Rahman has collected a nomination form for the Dhaka-15 seat ahead of the upcoming 13th general elections.
On Thursday, a delegation led by Jamaat's Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair picked up the nomination papers on Shafiqur's behalf, according to Md Yunus Ali, the returning officer for the Dhaka-13 and Dhaka-15 constituencies.
The last day to submit the nomination papers is Dec 29, with the election slated for Feb 12 next year, reports bdnews24.com.
Since the election schedule was announced on Dec 11, aspirants vying for the constituency, including BNP's Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton, have collected nomination papers.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis chief Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haque and Nationalist Democratic Movement-NDM Chairman Bobby Hajjaj collected nomination papers for the Dhaka-13 constituency.
As of now, 21 candidates running from Dhaka-13 and Dhaka-15 have collected nomination papers.
A referendum will be held alongside the election on February 12.
