Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has alleged that results of a number of constituencies were not being declared.
"We are certain as we have signed papers that show that we (Jamaat alliance candidates) are leading. But the outcome of the voting is yet to be declared," he told the media on Thursday midnight at the party's central office in the capital's Mogbazar area.
Asked how many constituencies Jamaat has won unofficially so far he replied " We ( Jamaat) have no actual answer right now as a number of constituencies' results are still being kept hanging ( not yet declared).
" We hope that the government would soon publish the official results and then we will be able to give our next views to the nation," he said. " Our politics is positive , welfare-oriented, our politics is not for party. We would not do politics only for the sake of opposition. We would cooperate for good deeds but will not support bad deeds," he continued. He hoped that the government would publish elections results officially by today (Friday). Leaders of 11-party alliance including NCP leader Nahid Islam were present.
