Other posts drew the following numbers of candidates: 13 for education and research secretary, 13 for environment and nature conservation secretary, nine for literature and publications secretary, nine for cultural secretary, 11 for assistant cultural secretary, seven for drama secretary, five for sports secretary, six female and six male candidates for assistant sports secretary, 14 for IT and library secretary, 14 for social welfare and human resource development secretary, five female and nine male candidates for assistant social welfare and human resource development secretary, 12 for health and food security secretary, and seven for transport and communication secretary.

In total, 276 candidates submitted nomination papers for 25 central JUCSU posts, and 467 filed nominations for 315 hall-level posts across 21 residential halls. Of these, 256 central nominations were accepted in the draft list, with the rest rejected due to incorrect information or ineligibility.
The long-awaited JUCSU election is scheduled to be held on September 11.
"Several nomination papers were invalidated because of factual errors and the absence of valid student status. However, the candidates have the opportunity to appeal," said Prof Mohammad Mafruhi Sattar, a member of the JUCSU Election Commission.
As per the schedule, appeals regarding the draft list will be heard on August 27, while withdrawals can be made until August 28. The final candidate list will be published on August 29, after which campaigning will run until September 9.
