Khaleda visits brother’s house in Gulshan

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has spent four hours with her extended family at the house of her brother in Gulshan.

She was accompanied by her two daughters-in-law, Tarique’s wife Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Sharmila Rahman, the wife of late Arafat Rahman Coco, reports bdnews24.com.

BNP chairperson’s Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas shared the information. He said, “Madam went to a family programme at her younger brother’s house and spent some quality time with them.”

Khaleda travelled to the home of her brother Shamim Eskander at 9:13 pm on Saturday, riding a blue car. She returned to Feroza, her home in Gulshan at 1:45 am.

The car entered the premises Shamim’s house on Road No. 42 in Gulshan at 9:30 pm. It carried BNP flag on one of the flag stands.

Shamim Eskander’s wife Kaniz Fatema, another sister-in-law of Khaleda Nasrin Ahmed, sister Selina Islam and other family members welcomed Khaleda with flowers.

Her personal physician, prof AZM Zahid Hossain, Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas and other BNP members were present.

Shimul Biswas said, “Usually, madam doesn’t go out. She went for a family event, and the family members were elated. Especially, small children’s joy knew no bounds.”

Khaleda left her Gulshan home for the first time after returning to Bangladesh from London on May 6.

A convoy of members of the BNP chairperson’s special security force and law enforcers provided security to the vehicle carrying her.

She visited the home of a close family member after more than a decade.
