Khaleda Zia to return home tomorrow

Khaleda Zia, chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), is set to return home tomorrow (Tuesday).

The party has asked its members to follow instructions to avoid public sufferings.

BNP leaders and activists will welcome her by taking positions from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to her residence in Gulshan.

The party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement at an emergency press conference organised at the BNP central office in the city's Nayapaltan.

The BNP senior leader said that Khaleda Zia was supposed to return home Monday after completing her treatment in the UK. But, she is returning home Tuesday at 10:30 am.

As per the instructions, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP will be stationed from the airport to Kakoli to Sheraton Hotel in Banani to Banani kitchen market to Gulshan-2.

Leaders and activists from different districts will take up positions at their own convenience.

Rizvi said that all leaders and activists will stand on one side of the road holding party flags and national flags. Motorcycles will not be allowed to accompany the BNP chairperson's car. They will not be allowed to walk either.

Apart from this, no one will be allowed to enter the airport and the BNP chairperson's residence, he added.

According to the BNP, Khaleda Zia will travel on a special aircraft --Qatar Royal Ambulance-provided by Qatar Emir.

Earlier, initial arrangements had been made for her to return on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight scheduled to land on Monday.
