Khulna and Jashore next as Tarique Rahman steps up election campaign

Khulna and Jashore will be the next stops in BNP chief Tarique Rahman’s election campaign.

Tarique will address election rallies in both south-western cities on Monday, said Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the party’s media cell.

According to the schedule, Tarique will leave Dhaka by helicopter at 11am and arrive in Khulna ahead of a rally at midday at the Probhati School field near Government Haji Muhammad Mohsin College.

He is due to depart Khulna at 1pm for Jashore, where he will attend a rally at 1:40pm at the Birampur Adarsha Government Primary School field in the New Township area. He is scheduled to return to Dhaka by helicopter at 2:40pm.

Tarique hit campaign trail on Jan 22 with a rally at the Alia Madrasa ground in Sylhet. He also addressed rallies the same day in Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi and Narayanganj.

He began the next phase of his campaign in Chattogram on Jan 25, holding rallies in Feni, Chauddagram in Cumilla, Suwagazi, Daudkandi and Narayanganj before returning to Dhaka.

The BNP leader began a three-day tour of the northern region on Jan 29, addressing rallies in Rajshahi, Naogaon, Bogura, Rangpur, Sirajganj and Tangail. He returned to Dhaka on Saturday.

Between Jan 22 and Jan 31, Tarique addressed a total of 19 election rallies.
