Unidentified miscreants killed a female Awami League leader in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Wednesday night, Officer-in-Charge of Nabinagar police station confirmed it to FE Online.
The deceased was Swapna Akhter, 46, women’s affairs secretary of Nabinagar Awami League unit.
Swapna was going home at Charpara area on a CNG autorickshaw from a party event at Zinodpur union when a group of assailants intercepted her autorickshaw and attacked her around 10pm.
They hacked at her indiscriminately, causing her severe injuries. She died while being taken to Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex.
