Echoing Jamaat-e-Islami’s call, the National Citizen Party (NCP) has urged the government to take effective measures to suspend all organisational activities of the Jatiya Party, according to bdnews24.com.
After a meeting with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus on Sunday, NCP Senior Joint Convenor Ariful Islam Adeeb highlighted ongoing concerns over the rehabilitation, medical care, and security of those injured during last year’s mass uprising.
“Even after a year, we see that the rehabilitation and safety of the wounded have not been ensured. Recently, when the families of martyrs protested for their demands, police baton-charged them, injuring several family members,” he said.
“We have called on the government to guarantee the safety and rehabilitation of these martyrs’ families and injured comrades.”
The meeting, focused on elections and current political issues, began shortly after 6:30pm at the State Guest House Jamuna. Alongside Adeeb, the NCP delegation included Chief Organiser Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Joint Member-Secretary Tasnim Jara, and Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud.
Yunus met with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leaders in the afternoon.
