Senior Joint Chief Coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Abdul Hannan Masud has claimed that he was attacked allegedly by some expelled BNP activists in Noakhali on Monday.
The attack, that took place at around 7:30 pm today, was led by some people claiming to be former local BNP members, Hannan alleged.
He also claimed that five to six NCP supporters sustained injuries in the attack.
A protest rally over the incident has been announced by the NCP, on its Facebook page.
The demonstration is scheduled to take place at 12:00am tonight in Banglamotor of the capital.
"BNP terrorists in Hatiya's Jahajmara area in Noakhali carried out an ambush, intending to kill Abdul Hannan Masud," a post on Hannan's verified Facebook page said earlier.
