NCP to submit registration application to EC on Sunday

The National Citizen Party (NCP) will submit its application for registration as a political party to the Election Commission (EC) on Sunday.

Mushfiq Us Salehin, the party’s Joint Member Secretary, confirmed the matter on Saturday, according to local media.

He said an NCP delegation would visit the EC office at 3 pm on Sunday to formally submit the application.

Earlier, on March 10, the EC invited applications for the registration of new political parties, setting April 20 as the deadline.

However, the NCP requested a 90-day extension on April 17 through a letter to the EC’s Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed. The EC later extended the deadline until June 22, allowing NCP to submit within the new timeframe.
