Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said on Saturday that Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina and the government-blessed businessmen are now under constant fear due to the US visa policy.

"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is now frightened due to the US Visa Policy," said BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at a teachers and employees rally at the auditorium of Engineers Institution, Bangladesh in the capital's Ramna area on the day.

He said that government-blessed businessmen are also under panic due to the visa policy.

"They (the ruling clique) have become mad. They are now thinking how to save their plundered money," he said.

Criticising the PM for her comments that none has asked her about restoration of caretaker government system during elections while she was visiting United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK) recently.

"Why this (caretaker government system) issue should be asked (to her)? Don't you (PM) understand seeing the role of all? What they said to you? A free, fair and participatory elections would not be possible under the ruling Awami League," he asserted.

"You (the government) have committed many crimes including killings and tortures. You have destroyed the country's economy. You have taken away people's rights. So, it is our duty to oust the government from power if we want to save the country. And we (BNP and the opponents) have to do whatever necessary in this regard," he stated.

"You (government) have to quit and must give your accounts," he mentioned.

He said the government is not allowing BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to go abroad for receiving advanced treatment.

He said that due to the pressure of the government, the country's media is now compelled to act as per government's will.

He said that whatever the power behind the scene could not save the government ultimately.

Mentioning the country's present education scenario, he said, "This government must be changed if we want to save our education system. Recruitment of teachers is being done only by money and party consideration," he said.

Fakhrul Islam Alamgir bitterly criticised the education minister.

He said that the followers of the minister are now being involved with extracting sands illegally from the river and thus embezzled a huge amount of money from that.

"There has been a call now across the country that this government must leave the power as their duration has been numbered. Still there is time, so you (government) have to leave power and save the country and the people", said Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Standing committee member of BNP Dr Abdul Moin Khan said that BNP will continue its non-violent movement and will oust the government.

Chairman of Teachers-Employees Alliance or Sikkhak Karmachari Oikya Jote Selim Bhuiyan presided over the rally which was also addressed by vice-chairman of BNP AZM Jahid Hossain and senior joint-secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed.
