Claiming that the Jatiya Oikyafront chief has failed to demonstrate his leadership, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday said Dr Kamal Hossain should quit taking the responsibility of the failure, not Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda.
"The poison of Dr Kamal's mouth is more dangerous than formalin. Not the CEC but you [Kamal] should resign," he said while addressing an election rally at Latifunessa High School ground in Chouddagram upazila of Cumilla district, reports UNB.
Posing a question, Quader said, "Why did you go to meet the person (CEC) whose resignation you demanded?"
He said the country's people will vote for 'Boat' on December 30 as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government is the one of development and peace. "The alternatives to 'Boat' are petrol bombs, burning people to death, torching educational institutions and vehicles, and blocking roads."
Awami League candidate for Cumilla-11 constituency and Railways Minister Mazibul Hoque, Chouddagram upazila parishad Chairman and upazila unit Awami League President Abdus Sobhan Bhuiyan Hasan and Chouddagram municipality Mayor Mizanur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
