Rashed Khan, the general secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad, has left the party and officially joined the BNP.
He joined the BNP by presenting a bouquet to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at the chairperson’s office at Dhaka’s Gulshan on Saturday, reports bdnews24.com.
Rashed has secured the BNP nomination for the Jhenaidah-4 seat in the upcoming 13th national election, scheduled for Feb 12.
Fakhrul said, “Rashed Khan is joining the BNP. I offer my congratulations.
“The BNP has decided to nominate Rashed Khan to contest the election with the 'sheaf of paddy' symbol for the Jhenaidah-4 seat, which comprises Jhenaidah Sadar and Kaliganj.”
