Road crash leaves 2 dead in Brahmanbaria

Two people were killed and four others injured as a speeding bus crashed into a CNG-run auto rickshaw on Cumilla-Sylhet highway in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail upazila on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Tanvir, 23, son of Amzad Hossain of Nabinagar upazila’s Nazardaulatpur village, and Rafiqul Islam, 25, son of Idhan Mia of Ashuganj upazila’s Lalpur village.

The injured are auto rickshaw driver Mizanur Rahman, passengers-Saiful Islam, Riazul Islam and Khokan Mia. All the victims were passengers of the three-wheeler.

The injured said they were going to a training centre by the auto rickshaw.

Asifuzzaman, sub-inspector at Khatihata highway police station, said the injured were sent to Sadar Hospital where physicians declared two of them dead.

The rest were receiving treatment, he said, adding that legal action will be taken in this regard.
