Sazzad, Ratan to lead CPB for the next four years

Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan and Abdullah Al Kafee Ratan will lead the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) as the president and general secretary for the next four years.

They were elected for the topmost party posts during a meeting of the 43-member central committee, which was elected during the recent 13th Congress of the party, on Wednesday.

Both Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan and Abdullah Al Kafee Ratan were presidium members of the leftist party. The four-day-long 13th Congress of CPB started on Friday at the Engineers’ Institution Auditorium in Dhaka.
