Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Monday said the alliance will announce its seat-sharing arrangement either Tuesday or Wednesday.
He shared the information with the media after a meeting with a three-member delegation of the European Union Election Observation Missions, led by Chief Observer and European Parliament member Ivars Ijabs, at his Bashundhara office in Dhaka.
Dr Shafiqur said the Election Commission is still hearing appeals, while the allocation of symbols and election campaigning are scheduled to begin on January 21.
Although the alliance's internal issues have yet to be fully resolved, he assured that invitations would be sent within the next two days.
Asked whether the EU would deploy observers in the upcoming election after skipping the previous one, the Jamaat ameer said the mission plans to send around 200 representatives to cover districts and city corporation areas.
On whether the alliance has set conditions for post-election talks with the BNP on forming a national government, Dr Shafiqur said they are not seeking any unconditional arrangement.
Jamaat's Assistant Secretary General, advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair; educationist Dr Zubair Ahmed; Development Team Lead Dewan Alamgir; and Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Jamaat Ameer, Prof Dr Mahmudul Hasan, were also present.ile, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen has met Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman and discussed ways to strengthen party-to-party exchanges, reports UNB.
