The BNP has announced that its Acting Chairman, Tarique, will contest the 13th national election from the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency, a seat previously held by his mother, former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
After returning to Bangladesh, Tarique is expected to complete voter registration, paving the way for his first-ever election run.
He is set to work regularly from the BNP Chairperson’s Office in Gulshan, where a room on the second floor has been newly prepared for him. A separate chamber has also been set up for him at the party’s central office in Naya Paltan, reports bdnews24.com.
In preparation for his return and the election, the BNP has refurbished its offices in Gulshan and Naya Paltan.
The party has also rented a four-storey building on Road 90 in Gulshan to serve as its election operations office, equipped with briefing rooms, departmental workspaces and a research cell.
