Tarique to tour northern districts Saturday in 2nd-phase campaign

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will visit the northern districts on Saturday as part of the second phase of his election campaign in the region.

According to the party’s media cell, Tarique Rahman will leave Dhaka by air at 10:00am for Saidpur Airport and address three election rallies during the visit.

From Saidpur Airport, he will travel to three districts by helicopter.

As per his schedule, he will speak at a BNP rally in Thakurgaon at 11:30am, in Nilphamari at 1:20pm and in Birampur of Dinajpur at 2:20pm.

After the rally in Dinajpur, he will return to Saidpur Airport by helicopter and then fly back to Dhaka on a domestic flight.

Earlier, during the first phase of his northern tour, Tarique Rahman travelled by road on January 29 and addressed election rallies in Rajshahi, Naogaon and Bogura.

On January 30, he spoke at a rally in Rangpur, followed by rallies in Sirajganj and Tangail on January 31.

Before that, on January 22, he began his election campaign from the Alia Madrasa ground in Sylhet and later addressed rallies in Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi and Narayanganj.

On January 25, Tarique Rahman addressed rallies starting from the Polo Ground in Chattogram and later visited Feni, Cumilla and Narayanganj.

He also held rallies on January 27 in Mymensingh, Gazipur and Uttara in Dhaka.

On February 2, he addressed election rallies in Barishal and Faridpur.

So far, the BNP Chairman has held 24 election rallies outside Dhaka across the country. Besides, he addressed two election rallies in his constituency, Dhaka-17, at Karail and Banani.

Tarique Rahman will wrap up the party’s election campaign by addressing the final rally in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital on February 8.
