Tarique urges people to remain calm in face of provocation

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday called on people across the country to remain calm and restrained in the face of any provocation, stressing the need to maintain peace and order.

He made the appeal while addressing a reception programme held at the 300 Feet area of the capital on December 25, according to local media reports.

Tarique Rahman said all national leaders present on the stage, as well as those outside it, want to work together to lead the country and build a Bangladesh that reflects the aspirations of the people. “At any cost, we must protect peace and discipline in the country,” he said.

Emphasising restraint, he added, “In the face of any provocation, we must remain calm and composed. We want peace in the country; we want peace in the country; we want peace in the country.”

His remarks came amid a large gathering of party leaders, activists and supporters at the event.
